Weekly Roundup...

Because of my work schedule, I'm gonna have to start breaking things up into half weeks, but it should be ok because some of my shows are ending for the season.

DWTS

Did everyone see it? That's right, I called it at the beginning, Jennifer Grey has won. Seriously, are you surprised as all? I mean, it's pretty obvious from the beginning who is going to win and who is going to get booted off.

Bristol Palin making it all the way to the finals, well someone has a shitload of luck on their side; also an entire state/political party voting for you. But then again, even I succumbed to the charms of the underdog, rooting and wanting to actually vote for her, but I had to stand by my girl, Jennifer. Yup, we're on a first name basis now.

While I'm not totally convinced that voting even makes the slightest bit of difference in the outcome, I still found myself voting week after week for Jennifer because I didn't want her to go home, even though watching her complain week after week was difficult to justify. However, her dancing always made up for it.

So this is what I've concluded. The show is a production. They edit and cut out moments to make people see certain elements to everything. The show edited and put all these crazy scenes of Jennifer bitching and complaining about her body and how it's giving out on her. But should we forget that she is fifty years old and looks freaking amazing! Plus, she has a metal rod in her neck. Ok, so maybe she bitched. But maybe she was positive too and we never saw what really happened. And we'll never know.

Bristol was shown as a really sweet and still innocent girl, even though she is the poster girl for pre-marital sex, she hasn't lost that youthful and innocent spirit. However, in the midst of this whole show, her family went through some drama and the good girl next door through down with some hateful and angry speech. So maybe the good girl is not so good and ABC edited her to look better? Perhaps.

That's the problem with reality television. An audience member will never know if the producer has decided to edit someone in a way that doesn't really capture them as a person. And they'll never know if the star has a contract stipulation saying they must be shown in a certain light. So. Who really knows what's going to happen.

For a show such as this, they have put on celebrities. Celebrities get to where they are by working incredibly hard. Even if they have no talent, they do work hard. I'll give them that, so it's difficult, I think, to explain to someone why people on the show complain about a near flawless performance, or struggle to get through something that looks perfect on the outside. And until we're on the show, we'll never know what really happens.

And now the show is over to make room for Skating with the Stars. For real? I give it one season. And are these people really stars? Sean Young? Getting ready for the second coming of Tanya Harding because that bitch has a TEMPER!

GLEE

Just when this show was sucking me in again, it's pushing me right back away. The wedding episode.

Did anyone else find it odd that the engagement was announced, and immediately Kurt suggests the Glee club to sing at the wedding. Ok, that part was fine, but then the wedding happens basically the weekend after it's announced, and then Kurt didn't even get a solo in the song at his own father's wedding? Um, I think James Levine definitely dropped the ball on that one. And Ryan Murphy, how dare you let that happen? Success of a tv show is in the details!!!

Sue's character is finally showing some balls by expelling Karafsky, the guy who's bullying Kurt. BUt then the school board let's him back into school. So Sue steps down as principal and Kurt's parents decide to use their honeymoon money to send Kurt to the all boys school. Ok let's stop again. Bad choice for his character. Instead of utilizing an opportunity to show kids who are bullied how to stand up for themselves and get people involved, they show that it's just easier to run away. So Kurt's parents are able to send him to private school to avoid his bully. But what about the millions of kids who can't afford to do that. The ones that have to endure several years of torture. Kurt already lives a really great life for having a father who immediately accepted his homosexuality, so now he even gets the private school too? This is every gay kids dream. However, it's not real. So, I sincerely hope that this show takes a turn and shows people how to get people involved when a bully is around.

And yes, I said it's not real. I know the show isn't real, because let's be honest, no one runs around and sings all the time. But the show is so popular with the youth of today and no one is forcing them to take advantage of the power they have right now. SHow people how to stand up for themselves. Show them how to make their world better.

I'll keep watching, but they have a huge responsibility to live up to.

BETTER WITH YOU

Ok, this show really needs to decide what it wants to be. It cant' have conventions one week and then not do it again the following week. The comedy is solid, and the acting is good, but it's just not getting over the line into great. It's settled into cute and cute doesn't last in TV. However, who doesn't love watching Debra Jo Rupp push down a twenty-something and scream obscenities at him when winning something so stupid as a puzzle contest?

And kudo's to the really awesome dance sequence/wedding proposal.

Pretty much, I like this show. Even when it's bad, I find something redeemable about it, but come on, step it up a notch. Give us a little bit more so you can stay on the air!!!

MODERN FAMILY

Seriously, it's so fun to watch this show because you never know what's going to happen next!

Instead of picking the show apart, let's go trough and just hit some highlights. Celia Watson as Cam's mom was sheer genius. Touchy, handsy and just delightfully awkward in
every scene. Comign into the bathroom while MItchel was in the tub to take a picture with him, for real?

Phil Dunfy. Oh Phil. I think every family has one. Or should. More upset over his daughter's break up with Dylan than she was, he ends up hanging out with him to get

his fix. And then, because his hoodie is actually a girls hoodie, makes his daughter think that Dylan has a new girlfriend. Genius. And brilliant tag at the end with Phil on the phone and throwing his hoodie out because he sees a girl wearing it too. He's just so wonderfully clueless and funny!

This show is just amazing!!! I can't handle it.

COUGAR TOWN

This show was just what I needed. I love Andy!!! The entire episode Ellie and Laurie try to break his optimism and just can't do it. Seriously, he sang reggae music. It was genius. BUt he found something in everything that was good and the reason he was supposed to be there.

Jules told Grayson she loved him and then freaked out when he didn't say it back. But accidentally poisoned him too. In the end it was so cute when he thanked her for giving him time to do things on his own time.

The dynamic of everyone on this show is brilliant. They've really been able to stretch out the relationship of Jules and Grayson better than i expected. I really thought it
would be done by the end of season 1. It felt too soon to introduce that story line, but it's working. And then her friends are just brilliant. And fun. And I love the tagline at the beginning of the show each week. This is the "cute" show that works and will be around for awhile.

All up to date. :)

It's been a good week for tv, and since my Sunday night shows aren't going to be on, I'll pump this out real fast.

DWTS

Everyone danced, and surprisingly, Brandy dances really really well, but still came in third place. Jennifer Grey topped the leader board with a perfect score. Kyle did fairly well and I have to say it, I was most impressed with Bristol.

Now, I know what everyone is going to say about their family. Her sister put up anti-gay slurs on her facebook page. (more about that here http://rigglemethis.blogspot.com it's not up yet, but it's coming.) But still, from a dance stand point, she has been the most improved, and at the end of it, Brandy went home. :( so sad. Did anyone else see it when it came down to Brandy and Bristol, Brandy totally thought she was in. Not one ounce of her body thought she was gonna go home before a Palin.

Well, it happened. :)

GLEE

In a funny turn of events, Sue found herself the principal of McKinnley High. And with Mr Shue sick, of course Gwyneth Paltrow is the substitute to the rescue and makes the kids all have fun.

I'm not gonna lie, I think I was more jealous about the fact that I never had a sub like her. She's the sub I always hoped for. None of them ever make the students listen and actually learn. Since I was always wanting more fun in high school, I was completely just jealous. That's it. And Gwyneth certainly delivered. Whoever her publicist is deserves a raise. That woman is getting more press about her upcoming movie just by being present EVERYWHERE!

And then there's Blaine. While I do still want him as a cast regular, I'm a little sad that they presented him as a really good alternative to Kurt's over the top flamboyance, and now they have him(Blaine) as queeny as him. Now, I'm not trying to blast the gays' effeminacy, but come on, give us an alternative example. I love that Kurt has a friend, and adding the line, "oh I like sports too" isn't enough to let people see that he's different. But, I get it. I just hope that they give him a more interesting story line than that of Kurt's gay-ass boyfriend. I think he has a ton of potential.

And does anyone else find it creepy that Kurt has known him for two weeks and already put up his picture in his locker like they're in a committed relationship? Get real. Oh wait, it's high school, of course it moves at lightning speed.

Also, in hilarious scenes, Mercedes delivered some fun obsession with tater-tots. For real. Sue took them away due to a healthy school lunch improvement, so she had to get her fix elsewhere, but then it turned out that she's substituting her love of food for lack of love in her life and she's making Kurt out to be her bf. But let's be honest, isn't that was a hag is supposed to do? She's not supposed to get a real life until she's had a big blow up with Kurt after graduation, swears off gay men forever, then meets her real gay in college who will always be her best friend, and might actually help her meet her future husband. You're high school gay is only there til high school is over. Wake up sweetie. :)

BETTER WITH YOU
Thank GOD the beginning is back to it's old routine. However, I think they are trying to switch it up by throwing it to the end of the episode to the beginning, to the end and back again. But it's ok, because it works at either end of the show.

This show is really cute, and I love how awkward Ben (played by Josh Cooke) is and how he is always the butt of the jokes of the family. It's so sweet and endearing and left in the hands of an amateur would come off as totally wrong and most likely bad, but Cooke layers him with books smarts and enough nerd to be lovable and we keep rooting for him week after week.

And REBA WAS THE GUEST STAR!!! For real! YAY! I love her in about everything she does and the comedy of her guest star role is that she had her own tv show and Joanna Garcia played her daughter. The chemistry is still there, but honestly, it didn't have to be Reba. It could have been anyone.

Kudos to this cast for always adding a good laugh and a lot of love/cuteness to my Wednesday night.

MODERN FAMILY
Seriously. My god, how did I exist before this show? Every episode really brings it to a real place that every family can relate to, then pushes it up a notch. From Phil crying over his daughters out growing him, to family races, to Claire angry that Luke chose his dad over her, to Gloria losing the keys and freaking out, to Mitchell surprising Cam and sending him over the edge, to the always lovable Manny who thinks he didn't really have a childhood.

I mean, for real. All-star casting, that doesn't rely on guest stars anymore, found it's own footing and just really gives it to you every single episode. It's really the perfect marriage of writing, directing acting, producing. Every aspect of this show is magic. This will be one of the best shows in the history of television. I mean, who else would give us a line like, "you cheated on me with choreography, and that's the worst kind."

COUGAR TOWN
I love that this show is now juggling the son at college very well with the empty nest syndrome and Courtney Cox is relaly bringing out the big guns and is no longer a heightened caricature of Monica, and instead, is displaying new sides to herself that we've never seen. The wine loving, overbearing motherhood never ceases to amaze me.

The friends she has are also impeccable. And as everyone knows, I think Ellie (Christa Miller) leads the pack as the every delightful bitchy know it all neighbor who always is one step ahead of everyone else. Even Big Joe. Ahhhh. Everyone needs a little Big Joe in their life from time to time, right?

And in the end, everyone needs to know that it's alright to like a show called Cougar Town.

SHIIIIIIIT!

I am so far behind, but let's recap from last week, as I'm watching this week's DWTS. It's so hard to keep up. but let's try, shall we?

DWTS

Dance dance dance, bitch bitch bitch. It seems that they all do a fair amount of bitching while they are learning their choreography, but then they all come out and give a fantastic performance. And Jennifer Grey is struggling to get through it all! AHHHHH My girl! She has only a few more weeks to make it. Come on! I'm rooting for you!

Oh yeah, Kurt went home. He was kinda boring anyways. Though I've deemed his theme song, "pretty fly for a white guy." just saying...

GLEE
OMG! Did you see it did you see it??? The introduction of what is, hopefully, Kurt's new boyfriend. It was so cute! I have re-watched the episode about four or five times and re-watched that one scene about a hundred. Darren Criss is the newest guest star of Glee, and after a break out performance of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, he's sure to be a full time cast member. If you haven't watched it yet, then you need to see this episode.

I love that they are really diving into the story line of Kurt's bullying, however I have one complaint. I don't know if it's the best idea to make his bully gay. Yes, I understand that most people who bully select the people who make them feel bad about themselves for usually the same thing they are bullying for in the first place. But, I know that some of the people who bullied me in school weren't necessarily gay, but they were just mean. Who knows the real reason why people bully? I just don't want to see in the news a bunch of gay kids getting beaten up for kissing their bullier. Is that even a word?

Oh well, it was probably the best episode of Glee that's ever happened. Even the Madonna episode. Criss's version of Teenage Dream was even better than the original. And it was so touching to see Kurt have a friend/confidant to go through the struggles of high school.

Everyone else on the show was great, as usual, however, I"m too excited about the newcomer.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

AHHHHH where did my shows go??? Ugh, damn country music awards show ruining my evening of Modern Family!!! Ugh, I have to wait. However, I love me some Gwyneth Paltrow and can't wait for her movie!!!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

I'm starting to dig the season a little bit. Susan is working for Lynette and it's a struggle for them to find a balance between friendship and work. I like this. They are really starting to give Susan a little bit of depth to her whiney-ness and patheticness. And Lynette is just like the wise old sage of the street who always knows what to say and do, and Felicity Huffman gives her a tough edge but keeps her lovable and, honestly, is one of the few things keeping me coming back over and over again.

Bree dating the younger man, Brian Austin Green, is a little bit annoying to me now. It's very clear that they can't go anywhere in the relationship because they want two very different things, so it seems to be just drawn out. However, a little tiff between his parents, causes his mom, played by the always wonderful Nancy Travis, to ask for a divorce. Somewhat interesting. But did anyone catch that weird moment between the dad and Bree? Strange, who knows where that's going to go?

Gabby. Ok, seriously, I can actually say that I am a proud lover of Eva Longoria-Parker. Not only a pretty face, she's really hit a stride on this show. SHe's given her character so much meat and depth and interest. And it's not just the story line for her or the dialogue she gets. She just gives it to you with a look or a pout of her mouth or something. There is subtle beauty to the acting she is putting out on that show.

Pretty much loved this episode and found myself really upset with the Mexican couple possibly being deported, it actually made me really sad, obviously the point, and there's just something that keeps me holding on each week.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS
I'm not so sure I liked this episode, however Sonia Braga guest stared at Luc's mother and ended up making out with Justin, who libido is going CRAZY! It was actually kinda brilliant how it all unfolded.

It seemed to be the episode of not being able to say what you wanted. Sarah couldn't get Luc to tell her why he hates his mother. Norah couldn't tell the new hottie that she liked him more than a friend, and no one could get through to Justin about why you dont' hook up with every single person you work with, especially at work, when you're working for your brother-in-law.

I think the stand out performances in this episode are for Sonia Braga and Giles Marini. Seriously, they bother just have so much fire and passion behind what they do, they make me want to be foreign. HAHA. But I think the beauty of this show is they tie everyone in very subtly and solidly and there is always this lesson to learn about communication and they are constantly growing and learning with each other and it's really a family. It feels like a real family, a lot like my own and it just makes me really happy watching.

Catching up...

DWTS!

Ok, lots of dancing lots of dancing, and then Rick Fox went home. Is anyone surprised? I mean really. THe next to go should and I'm guessing will be Kurt Warner, followed by Bristol Palin, though she's getting so much better. Finally an underdog that is getting better on the show and staying in.

But anywho, is anyone else tired of Jennifer Grey and Brandy complaining? I mean for real! I love me some Jennifer Grey and she's uber talented, but seriously, lighten up, you're partner is the hottest man on the show, you were in one of the greatest movies ever made, you have a fantasticly funny husband and a wonderful daughter, and besides all of that, you're Joel Grey's daughter! Lighten up!!!

GLEE

I didn't mention Glee last week, but it was the Rocky Horror show. Ugh, I can't believe this happened. I'm kinda over Glee, but I can't pull myself away. It's the biggest guilty pleasure I have, I would say. It's like reality tv, I LOVE to hate it.

Some positive points, Jayma Mays singing "Touch me." No, it wasn't phenomenal singing, but she was AMAZING!!! I love her sooooo much. And I loved loved loved Mercedes as Frankenfurter. I couldn't handle it. I loved that Kurt didn't want the role, though. It's pretty much any gay boys dream role from that show and they didn't do the stereotypical "give the gay boy the gay role" thing. It was a nice twist. HOwever, Mr. Shue, STOP SINGING WITH THEM! Old dude John Stamos, you're not even a teacher there, STOP SINGING WITH THEM! Jesus, it's insane. I can't stand that shit.

BETTER WITH YOU

And the wonderful opening is gone again!!! What? For real? Why did you take it away. Oh well, i guess it's fine that it's at the ending. As long as it's there, I don't care, i just think it's a really cute convention of the show and I want it to stay, damnit!

This episode was funny. The boys take a bonding trip up north and Ben is worried that Casey is bonding more with Mr Putney than with him, until Mr Putney just leaves them stranded on the side of the road. Back in the city, Casey's crazy hippy mom from Vermont is visiting and pisses off not only Mia, but Mrs Putney as well. Then in a remarkably bitchy scene, Mrs, Putney puts her in her place.

I can't get enough of this show. My favorite person on it has to be Debra Jo Rupp who plays the mom. She seriously gives some of the best deliveries of every single one of her lines. OVerall the cast is brilliant and the writing is cute! It was full of surprises and yet everything is wrapped up with a nice little bow on it.

MODERN FAMILY

FOR REAL? I can't believe this. The Gays get their daughter involved in a racist commercial for furniture. Claire and Hayley are both home sick dealing with constant phone calls from the boyfriend and his being freaked out because he dreamed somethign about Clair and Hayley together. Phil is obsessed with taking care of everythign for Claire while she's sick, but has to deal with the constant chirping of dying batteries from the smoke alarms, while Manny's visit to Jay at work get's Manny's favorite employee fired when he lets Manny drive a forklift and he crashes into a wall.

First of all, the gays. The gays. It's amazing to see them maneuver life like any other couple, but with an added hint of drama because of Cam. He's so wonderfully dramatic and over the top I can't deal. He's worth every bit of his emmy. Probably one of the best actors on television today. So funny, so spot on and so together.

Hayley is becoming quite the little comedienne on this show. Each week, I feel like she grows more and more and adds a little bit more depth to her shallow bitchy character.

Phil. Oh Phil. Who doesn't want a dad like Phil Dunfy? For real? He is so cute and adorable and so unaware of so many things, that you always find yourself rooting for him even if he is flat out wrong. It's genius.

This entire show just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait for the next episode. I wish it were on every day just so I could watch even more. Or that I could watch everything they cut from the show, because even if it doesn't end up on tv, I'd be willing to bet it's funny as all hell!!!

COUGAR TOWN

EVeryone is trying to get Jules the perfect birthday gift. And Travis gets he dad into a Netty pot. that's it. That's the entire plotline for the entire show. Two lines and a thirty minute show is built. Fantastic. Seriously.

I think the best part was the plotting of each character to get Jules the best gift and then Laurie's ability to take the big prize by leading everyone down the wrong path to get her sucky gifts. But the more I think about it, that's a shitty thing to do because she pretty much just ensured that her friend is getting bad gifts except one. Hers. I'd rather have a bunch of good gifts though. Just me. I'm greedy.

Each week, I kinda like this show a little bit less. It's lost some of it's appeal from season one and I'm not sure how they'll get it back. However, Ellie and Andy are the best people on the show and I'd love for them to get a spin off if Cougar town doesn't work out.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Drama Drama Drama.

I'll try to recap quickly. Lynette and Renee get an interior design team together and offer Susan a job as a nanny to Lynette. Susan thought it was going to be designing with them and is embarrassed to find out she's now working for her best friend. Bree is hitting menopause and her new doctor who is initially excited for her to be dating a younger man is not thrilled when she finds out Bree is dating her son. Gabrielle is worried that Carlos is about to turn gay because he's hanging out with Bob so much, so when she finds out that Bob is just lonely, not trying to flip Carlos, she get his and Lee back together again. And we find out a HUGE secret about Paul Young's wife, she's Felicia's daughter. So, Paul won't be with us for very long.

Watching Susan this week was actually tolerable. Because we all have to take jobs at times that we don't want to, and as much as I hate to admit it, I didn't exactly mind watching her blubber through her scenes as a week little deer. Meanwhile, I don't think it was so unexpected that Bree's doctor turned out to be her boyfriend's mother, however, it was sad to see that the relationship is pretty much over because he wants children and Bree just doesn't. As much as it pains me to see it, I know they are going to drag that shit out for at least a few more episodes because Brian Austin Green is too good on the show to get rid of. But still it sucks because we all know the relationship is over.

Lynette is, once again, the best actress on the show. I can't get enough of her. She carefully walks the thin line of fiend and employer beautifully. She really honed in on the sensitivities it takes to maintain a friend who is also your employee. And Gabrielle got some of her old sense of carefree, snotty, conceited old self back. It was overall, a pretty fun episode. I can't say it was amazing because it just wasn't. I think the writing and direction of the episode was pretty lackluster, and overall it's difficult to just watch them run in circles, but it was still fun.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS

SOOOO much is happening. Justin is interested in a new nurse helping Holly out. Kitty and Sarah struggle with finding a common ground in starting a business, blaming their mother for shaping their lives by sending them into business and politics, but then they find out that their mother just sent them in the direction that they were already going. And Paige is obsessed with trying to get kevin and Scottie Back together again.

Which they do. Kevin and Scottie are one of the best couples in tv right now. I really think them having an affair and the problems was presented in such a way that it didn't feel like a cop out of lack of creativity on the writers part. Typically it just feels so forced and trite, but this one feels so real and to rough. Granted, they skim through the time frame of healing and I think they could have stretched it out over a few more episodes, but, it was still upsetting and emotional and some of the best writing I've seen for something of this nature.

And kudos to the young actress who plays Paige. She delivered some tough lines for a young teenager to do well and usually I think she's kinda awful, but the last few episodes, I think she's really turning out some great moments.

And the women's banter on the show and the way they just talk all over each other is just wonderful, because they still get things done. Even Norah, who finally begins to realize that she is not the constant healer of all wounds, nor is she the one who is to blame. So she is finally growing herself as well. it's a pretty remarkable show. I can't wait to see next week when the drama heals and something new happens.

Last week finish up...

BETTER WITH YOU

Halloween and Maddie's birthday fall on the same day, a situation that has caused her to feel she has never had a real birthday. She even flips out over colors that remind her of Halloween. She thinks that halloween steals the spotlight every year. Mia and Casey have a halloween-free party at their newly renovated firehouse home. Yeah right, because they bought it two weeks ago and all renovations in NYC are done in two weeks. Get with it LA. Where in this country do you renovate a house in two weeks? Seriously? Anywho, Ben can't figure out what Maddie wants for her birthday because he wasn't listening and Maddie's assistant sets out to get the gift for her. So Joel lets BEn in on a little secret of what he does whenever he messes up, GO BIG. Maddie and VIcki also warn Mia that couples together shouldn't let the other see behind "the curtain." They should maintain a level of mystery. Mia finds a videotape of Casey's and the subject sends them behind Casey's curtain.

I love that the opening is back!!! YAY! It's back. I love it. I lvoe seeing the different couples situations at different stages. i think it's a clever way to get people involved in watching the show.

Keeping it positive, I really am starting to love these kooky little characters. I think the actors have a real connection on camera and I imagine they have a really good time with each other off set as well. I can only hope that their writers keep it fresh and witty and keep them on top of the heap for, at least, a couple of more seasons.

Production needs to get with it. Maddie and Ben's place feels like an updated set from Three's Company and Mia and Casey have a renovated firehouse that resembles something from HGTV. Hello? Has anyone read the script and the situations? Seriously, they aren't millionaires.

Overall, I really enjoyed the episode and appreciated the twist on an anit-Halloween because of a birthday. Maddie and Ben's characters are quickly becoming my favorite because of their wonderful quirky anal-retentive nature and seriousness for everything. I love it.

Can't wait for next week.

MODERN FAMILY!

The exclamation point is because I could not stop laughing this entire episode. Jay thinks GLoria has a problem with the American Lingo which causes her to do a HIGHlarious over the top American accent throughout the entire episode. It's amazing. That woman can seriously do no wrong.

Mitchell listens to the outcasts at work about dressing up for Halloween, and wears a spideman costume, but realizes that no one is dressed up. He calls Cameron for advice and he points out how lazy Mitchell has been and has yesterdays dry cleaning in the back seat. He puts the suit on over the costume and eventually has to take it off and gets caught by his colleagues and made fun of.

Meanwhile, Claire and Phil are overly obsessed with Halloween and just want to have things run smoothly, but everyone's downer moods deter her from having just the perfect spooky haunted house that she wants. It does however give her one of the best lines I've heard on a show in awhile. It was sheer genius. Eventually everyone chips in and makes it awesome.

I love this show. I seriously can't believe the shit they come up with. I am shocked each week with the ridiculousness of this show. It's so random and funny. I love it i love it i love it i love it i love it i love it!!!!

Moment of the week is given to Claire. Usually I'd have to give it up to Sofia, but Claire took it home this week.

COUGAR TOWN

Jules is mad when her father comes to visit because she thinks he doesn't like her. It turns out that she makes him think of her mother too much and he just doesn't know what to say because he misses her so much. It's Halloween and Travis and Laurie are obsessed with scaring each other.

This show had a lot of heart. I actually found myself crying at the touching scene between Jules and her dad when he breaks down and tells her why he struggles around her and she tells him that she misses her mom too. I lost it. My parents so often tell me that I remind them of the other one, that I don't know how I'd deal if I lost one. So, I cried. I'm not made of wood people.

I think it was nice for the show to give us an episode that showed a different side to everyone. Well, actually just Jules. Everyone else was their same wonderful self. And Barb came back in a super sluttly Halloween costume. YES!!!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Halloween on Wisteria Lane was actually pretty damn funny. Let's break it down.

Gabriele dressed up her biological daughter Grace as a princess, and then Jaunita went as a dog. Obviously someone mistook Grace as Gabby's daughter and she stumbled over calling her own daughter a dog. Eventually, at the end of the night we saw Jaunita angry that Gabby was so interested in Grace that she volunteers to cut the crown off Grace's head and cuts out a huge chunk of her hair jeopardizing their chances of Grace ever coming back over to play with them.

I think this story line was interesting at first, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people agree with me when I say that it's getting tired really fast. It's not that interesting and it doesn't seem to be really driving their story line faster.

LYnette is struggling with the memory laps of Tom's mother and when she expresses her concerns to TOm, he automatically thinks that Lynette is just trying to get rid of her. BY the end of the evening, though, his mom wanders off and Lynette finds her on the Solis' porch, ending in a heated argument, which Tom witnesses and he makes the decision to send her to assisted living.

Ok, amazing. I've said it many times, this is the only family on Wisteria Lane that has real issues that normal people can relate to. No matter how much drama happens on the street, we all know that the Scavo's have to deal with real shit. Seeing a family dealing with an aging parent is truly heartbreaking and their performances were nothing less than brilliant. The only complaint I have is that Lynette is such a strong woman, that when she has these surprisingly weak moments, it feels completely out of place. For instance, when Tom's Mother slaps her, she cowers away like a mouse fearing a cat. It's completely out of character for her. Just sayin...

Susan gets fired from her job because Paul Young tells a parent at her school about her side job as a slutty maid. So, while out with trick or treating with MJ, she realizes that Paul did it and goes into his house and attacks him. Meanwhile, Mike has gone off to Alaska for a job to help get them back on track.

Finally! Finally she has some meat to her character and is taking charge with standing up for herself. But, I'm still over it. I've never wanted a character on a show to win the lottery more than this one, just because I don't want to hear her whining anymore. Actually, I wouldn't be mad if Susan's character just didn't exist on the show. I think in Teri Hatcher's hands, she's become whiney and just plain boring. Even with really good plot material, I can't stand watching her. And kudos to a surprising turn as Paul's wife goes out to Emily Bergl. She's utterly creepy and fantastic.

Bree got into character and played a cheerleader and went to Renee's halloween party with her boyfriend. (funny sidenote is that Renee was Marilyn Monroe and Bob, one of the gays on the street, was dressed like Marilyn as well.) Anywho, a guy at the party dressed like a football player harassed Bree, and her boyfriend went off the handle and was pissed. Then in the most touching scene on the show in a long time, Bree confessed to being a recovering alcoholic and he's been arrested for his anger.

I was so pleased and saddened to see this scene. It was actually one of the few times that we see something real from Marcia Cross. I think she's a terrific actress who's talent is not utilized on this show.

Overall, I did enjoy this episode very much. Though, I think a lot of the plots need reconsidering and the writers need to figure out a way to fix them.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS

OMG! DID you see it??? IT was so sad!!!! I can't even talk about anything else but this. We find out that the night of Scottie's opening of his restaurant, he cheated. Not only that, but that Kevin lied to him about having a job meeting. He was at a bar. It was so crazy. In a dramatic flashback we seem them about two months after the accident and fresh off the depressing news that their surrogate miscarried. Kevin was lost and depressed and he was so angry towards Scottie and couldn't handle the success that he was having. And Scottie fell for someone who was giving him all the affection that Kevin wasn't.

Ok, seriously, I don't remember the last time I was so glued to the television and so upset while watching. It was so sad to see what could be the end of the relationship of two of the best gay role models on tv. ANd every other character kept talking about how they look up to them and how they are the only Walkers who have a successful marriage. And sadly, Kevin, just can't get past the hurt of being lied to. Until, of course, Sally Fields' brilliant Norah, comes in and tells him the best line of the show. When he says how Scottie turned out just like his dad, she tells him that his dad lied for years through countless affairs, at least Scottie told him. He felt the need to be truthful and bring it out now instead of sitting on it for years and years.

It's kinda funny. I never thought of there being a difference between telling someone you had an affair or hiding it. It was the first time I had a little more insight. Usually, I'm just judgemental about stuff like this, but I guess the only way to move forward is to talk about it and then move on.

And in the end of the episode, Sarah gave in to Luc's proposal and everyone was happy, even Kevin, even though his life was coming down drastically.
