Another week full of shizzzzzzzzzzz

THis was a week of all shows bad, except Cougar Town. Pay attention people, because I wasn't happy this week. AHHHHHHHH

GLEE

Why oh why do I watch this show? I keep asking that question, but seriously, I have to wonder, when the acting is so mediocre, my head aches, and the writing is so saccharine, my teeth hurt. Yet, I still watch. Why? Because the songs are fun, no one can deny that the kids are talented, but still...

The show this week was all about Christmas. And it was a busted attempt, at best. I mean, come on, Jane Lynch as the Grinch should have been amazing! She even had her little downsy friend Becky to play Max the dog/reindeer. But still, it fell a little flat. Then Rachel, the Jew, tried to deliver a good Christmas gift to Finn to win him back, but again, it felt a little stumped. Either the Jew doesn't get Christmas, or just the song itself wasn't a good choice. Btw, is anyone else tired of her one dimensional selfishness? I'm really over her.

And then Kurt and Blaine have to rehearse for Blaine's Christmas singing thing so they do the classic duet of Baby, It's Cold Outside. Brilliant, except it didn't really bring them any closer together.

Finally, I'm sad to report that the GOlden Globe nominations came out this week. Four cast members were nominated, while I believe only two truly deserve it for their work; Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer are delivering solid performances out of the chincey lines they are given each week, however Lea Michele and Matt Morrison, both of which I have solid authority that they are assholes in real life, still just deliver their lines with a strained attempt to prove they are wonderful actors when they just suck. So, please wake up Hollywood Foreign Press, just because you can sing, doesn't make you a good actor, and good they are not.

BETTER WITH YOU

I loved this episode. It was called, better with Christmas Crap. It actually made me think of my own Christmas. The entire family is tired of going to the family cabin and freezing their butts off, so they all made up excuses to get out of it and they all ended up going to Florida so they could be like their neighbors growing up who always came back from Florida tan and gorgeous and apparently all the women had a crush on them.

It, of course, doesn't end up like they planned, and they all run into each other in the airport, and exchange stupid crap they find in the airport and begin a new holiday tradition.

I love this show because it doesn't pretend to be something that it's not. They don't try too hard to have sentimental moments, and the comedy is always lighthearted. The writing isn't the best, but it's enjoyable and just fun. Simple is where it's at with this show and they keep delivering each week.

MODERN FAMILY

Seriously, why this show didn't garner more Golden Globe nominations is beyond me, but that's just how it goes. Anywho, Eric Stonestreet is brilliant and his GG nom is not going to waste. His character's daughter, they find out, is a biter and so he decides to bust out a ukulele and sing to her about not biting people. HILARIOUS. And Jay and Phil take their boys shopping for clothes for their first dance. Jay thinks that Phil is a pushover and tries to teach the boys how to stand up for themselves, but it backfires and he ends up embarrassing himself. Meanwhile Phil loses it and ends up attacking a fragrance man.

Then Claire and Gloria compete over trying to decorate the dance, while fighting, but coming together in the end because Gloria thinks no one likes her because she's too sexy. HAHA. I seriously can't get enough of this show. The entire tie in through all aspects was amazing and I hate that I don't get the show for a month. :(

Shout out to the show, Sofia Vergara, and Eric Stonestreet for their Golden Globe nominations. However, I think the entire show deserves them too, which I'm sure that they were all submitted, just the HFP sucks at deciding who all should get them.

COUGAR TOWN

OK, one of my favorite shows of the week. Everything was hilarious. Jules tries to boost Bobby's confidence by redoing his boat and getting him into a golf tournament, Kirsten hates how much Laurie and Travis flirt, and then Ellie and Grayson try to one up each other on their past bullshit.

That part was my favorite, I believe Grayson posing in a calendar in a speedo came out and he also revealed a Real World audition tape of Laurie's. However, I was sad they didn't get the chance to show it. :( But seriously, those two are my favorite people on the show. Their digs and one liners keep me interested in the show.

It was just tons of fun and I can't wait for Christmas time to be over so the show can come back!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Ugh, so much so we'll do a character recap.

Bree-Her boyfriend propsed, she's not ready, so she invites him to move in, but he wants more so he doesn't stay, then his dad makes a pass at Bree and she sends him on his way. Then during the big protest, everyone thinks her boyfriend is one of the ex cons and he gets beaten up. I initially loved Brian Austin Green on the show, but I think they took the relationship too far too fast. I think it's time for him to leave. It's no longer interesting and just plain boring.

Gabrielle- She writes a letter to Grace, and Jaunita finds it and knows the truth, so Jaunita runs out the door and gets caught up in the mob of people protesting the halfway house. She basically almost gets killed, but luckily Gabby and Carlos save her. This was amazing. I think the arc of the daughter that's not theirs has wavered, but it's really given Eva Longoria room to show off her acting chops. I think she's really blossomed on this show and I can't wait to see more of her.

Susan- Tries her best to get Renee off the street after she found out that Renee still loves Tom. So she ends up confronting her, then heading off to the protest, but in the big rush of everything, she gets trampled and of course, we have to wait until after Christmas to find out what happened to Susan. For all I care, they can just take her off the show, she's whiney and annoying and I just don't care so much anymore.

Lynette- Heads up the protest and enlists some violent people from neighboring communities to help stop the halfway house from happening, but the plan backfires when they show up with baseball bats and start a huge fight against everyone and the entire neighborhood gets torn up. Though she does stop them from killing the gays because
they sold their house and somewhat saves the day by showing compassion for someone she's mad at. Lynette is always the best on the show, because, in a way, she always takes responsibility for her actions, but also seems to be the voice of reason on the show. She's truly the best actress but also one of the most relatable.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS

What the hell happened to my favorite show? Seriously?

QUick recap. Norah decides to be impulsive and cancel Christmas and leave the kids to fend for themselves. Of course this is a screwed up plan because the kids all fight over everything, and end up doing Christmas the Norah way at her house, and of course Norah is off in New Mexico stressing out about her children while trying to have fun with her new boyfriend, who gives her a sleeping pill. But then, in the dumbest twist of the week, Norah dreams what her life would be like if she had left years ago. This was so stupid. It was a combination of, mostly, It's a Wonderful Life, with a touch of A Christmas Carol.

I seriously almost stopped watching in the middle of the episode. That's never happened to me before with this show, but it was so dumb and just irritated me that this is how they left the show for their Christmas hiatus. I mean, come on! AHHHHHHHH
Who greenlighted this idea? For real!

And finally, GOLDEN GLOBES, listen up, Glee isn't a quality show. Yes it's fun and entertaining, but seriously, most of the cast aren't good actors, they are good singers. Please learn the difference. Also, I can't really support you when you put the film The Tourist in the comedy catagory. Isn't that more drama because it's a thriller? I mean, get your shit together before you put in nominations. just sayin...

Week in Review.

So many shows were repeats this week, which sucks, but even a repeat of Modern Family is better than something else, right?

But, here goes.

GLEE

What the hell is happening? Kurt and Rachel are equally stifled at their schools, thinking they are no longer top dog? Kurt and Rachel are BFF's? Rachel finds out that Finn really did sleep with Santana? Mr. Shue yelling at everyone, and Emma is engaged? WTF?

I really hate the direction they are going. I mean, it just doesn't really make sense. It feels so gross and weird. It's almost like when you have a circle of friends and two of them start dating and then break up, because that's when the group breaks up.

All I hope from this episode is that there is some sort of plan. A plan that includes Kurt coming back to McKinley High, Rachel coming to terms with the fact she's a bitch, and suddenly becomes great friends with everyone, Finn mans up and realizes that he's not quite the pussy he likes to be, and Mr Shue and Emma get together, finally. And more Darren Criss because he's talented and cute! I mean, that seems to be the most logical way to go, but who knows? Maybe Ryan Murphy will surprise all of us.

Wednesday night

Oh yeah, re-runs. :(

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

It certainly is a messed up week on my shows. I mean, for real? Paul Young is opening a halfway house? Where is he getting all of this money? Has this been discussed on the show, yet? I don't get it. It just seems to be all somewhat out of nowhere and I get he wants to have revenge, but does any of this mean anything?

And then Keith's botched proposal to Bree was pretty much obvious to happen. I mean, did you not see the way his dad was looking at her from the day he met her? He's been into her from the beginning and it's just not going to end well. But, more importantly, Bree and Keith have been dating for only a couple of months, and he's ready for marriage? yeah, right.

And of course Susan gets involved with Renee's birthday and finds out about Renee and Tom's little fling a hundred years ago. Really? I mean, we all saw that they had a past about four or five episodes ago, and we all suspected someone on the lane would find out, and now it's just a matter of time before Lynette finds out.

Speaking of Lynette, seriously brilliant acting from Felicity Huffman. I mean, good lord, she's wonderful. IN the scene where she has to tell Tom why she doesn't talk him up more is because she doesn't want to be reminded of what a bitch she is. And now we're just waiting for the big ball to drop that Tom and Renee have slept together. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

And Gabby's real daughter Grace has to go on the run from the INS because her parents are illegal. It actually ended up being a really great story line. Much better than I originally thought. It ended up being very touching and sweet and gave us a whole new way to look at Gabby.

Looking ahead to next week, I saw a sneak peak that Jaunita is going to find out about who Grace really is. I can't wait. SHould be good!

BRothers and Sisters

Seriously, this family all ended up trying to stay at the same hotel all on the same day? Just because it was half off? Yeah, I'm not buyin it. I get it that Sarah wanted a romantic night with Luc before he leaves for China. And Norah, i mean, wait what? Luc is leaving for two months for China. WHy? I love him on the show, and he's leaving? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And of course because she wanted that, everyone else had to come in and muck it up with whatever is going on with them. Kitty's sleeping with a twenty-seven year old. Does anyone else remember her husband just died? I mean, don't most people take at least a few months to grieve? Anywho, Scottie and Kevin decide to come over to have Sarah help calm Kevin down after he eats a pot brownie. Then they decide to run off to Vegas for a vacation. I understand that they might have moved past the revelation of Scottie's infidelity, but hasn't it been about, oh I don't know, a week? Pretty quick isn't it?

I dunno, it was a funny episode, minus Justin and Rebecca and Holly. Sad to not see them on even one episode.

It was pretty funny and definitely keeping me around, but seriously, sometimes its so saccharin rich that I wanna throw up, but overall it's fun.
