DWTS

Quick recap, Michael Bolton went home. Was anyone surprised? I mean, did we really need an hour to know that he was going home? He danced like crap and no one really likes Michael Bolton. Go back to singing 80's power ballads.
Glee
I have to say it now. I'm not longer including Glee on my blog. Well, that is until they release a PSA about bullying. Out of all of the shows on television, I think they are the most complacent with the way bullying happens in high school. Each member of the glee club accepts the fact that the more popular people bully and/or pick on them. With everything that is happening in the world right now, they need to recognize that it's a real and serious issue and they have a responsibility to make sure that their audience knows they don't support it. Until they do, don't look for Glee anywhere near my blog.
ON to Wednesday night (my favorite night anyway!
Better with you is really hitting it's stride with it's second episode. I think this could be the sleeper hit of the season. The opening topic of an answering machine's technology and how each couple deals with it. from Mia and Casey recording their first message as a couple, then realizing that no one calls their home anyways because they have cell phones, to Maddie and Ben arguing over what best represents them as a couple in a message, to their parents trying to figure everything out and then just giving up because if it's important, they will call back anyways.

But that wasn't even the main topic of the show. They had to deal with the fact that Mia and Casey need a new place to raise the baby. Casey is hellbent on an abandoned firehouse, but the girls think that it's just a tetnus shot waiting to happen. The boys lose themselves in the "this is sooooo cool" phase, while the girls just hope it passes. In the end we find out that Casey say the sentimental and safe value in the place all along and sells it to Mia.
So that means next week we'll see them moving into an abandoned firehouse in NYC. Is anyone else tired of watching people live this crazy LA version of what living in NYC is all about? I mean, I like this show, but I think we've seen enough of LA's projected idea about what the big apple is all about. Remember FRIENDS? I mean, come on. It's so much harder for people to start out here than LA portrays. Reality check, LA, we're onto you and we don't buy it!
Overall, the show is cute. It's well acted by a solid cast and not overplayed by people who don't know what they're doing. The writing is adorable. At times, a little bit over romanticized, but in the end, it makes sense, and I'm hooked. It's light hearted and fun. I think anyone who likes romantic comedy will love this show and should be watching it!
Modern Family

This amazing comedy just keeps getting better and better. With the sadness I felt last week with a mediocre kick off to season two, this week's episode MORE than made up for my disappointment.
This episode dealt with kissing and affection. IT was amazing how they centered each family around their own issues. Gloria making dinner about her family traditions and being important to her, while Jay thinks they are crazy, so she sets up a trap for him, which ends up with him wearing sneakers tied around his neck. Cameron can't deal with the fact that Mitchell won't partake in PDA's. Then Claire, while snooping through her daughter's phone, finds out that Alex likes a boy and really wants to kiss him, while Haley is convinced that Claire was not the nice girl she claims to have been.
Eventually, they decide that it's Jay's fault that Mitchell isn't so affectionate and they solve everything by having Jay give Mitchell a kiss.
This episode was amazing! I seriously laughed my ass off every two seconds. I had to rewind parts because I missed stuff by laughing so hard! Every actor on this show is so incredible with their timing, and I can't imagine anyone else being on this show. The writing is impeccable and delivers every time. Even when I think the episodes are kinda blah, they are still genius. I mean, it's everyday life filmed like a reality show. Who doesn't dream of having a confessional when you can't handle whats happening? I would kill to be on this show. IT's brilliant. It's worth every bit of it's emmy for best comedy.
Desperate Housewives.

Ok, so it's too convoluted to recap, but for real, is anyone surprised by what's happening?
Renee is flirting with Tom and lynette is being a bitch to him. Bree fired her handyman because she liked him sexually, but then hires him back. Gabby fears that she cheated on Carlos and that he's not really Juanita's father, but obviously he alreayd knows that neither of them are the parents. Susan feels bad about lying to Mike about her sexy new job that is bailing them out. And then Renee ends up renting Edie's house.
First of all, my newest favorite actress on the show is Eva Longoria Parker. She has taken that whole "I'm the bitchy conceited neighbor" to an incredible new level. She's added an amazing level of humor to everything she does. I can't get enough of her this season, which is funny because I wrote her off years ago as a model-turned-horribleactress.
Next, I thought Vanessa Williams' Renee would end up with Susan's house so Paul Young could just go back to his own home, but she ended up with Edie Brit's house. So obviously, she is going to take over the role of trashy homewrecking bitch of the street. Oh my gosh, Vanessa WIlliams laying a bitch, surprise surprise, I'm glad she's stretching her abilities on this new job. HA HA.
But, bringing it back to a somewhat real situation, Lynette and Tom seem to keep it connected every week. It's not difficult to relate to most of their situations and this week, though far fetched, was no different. Granted he's dealing with something that only women deal with, but we'll see how it goes.
Overall, I keep needing to find out what's going on each week but mostly because of Felicity Huffman, Doug Savant, and now, Eva Longoria Parker. Kudos to all three of you for keeping the show alive. The writers are clever enough to keep the tie in from the voice over throughout the show, which is never each, but the plotlines are pretty superficial.
Brothers and Sisters

This show is amazing. Quick recap, HOlly doesn't remember anyone or anything, but has taken an interest in Justin because Justin doesn't treat her like she's stupid. Justin feels like he has an obligation to Rebecca's family even though she's not around. Kitty is struggling to move on with her life, Sarah is having problems balancing motherhood and being her daughter's friend. Scotty and Kevin struggle with the latin kid who keeps running away from home. And everyone thinks that Norah's a lesbian but really she's just hiding her job from everyone.
It's amazing how no matter what, these people make their audience feel like it's their family. It's hard to not cry when you see Kevin and Scotty finally taking their troubled teen to live with his grandmother. You see them finally get a taste of parenthood. Before I thought that they were going to adopt this kid specifically, but now, I think it's going to just inspire them to adopt instead of try surrogacy again.
I also love the element of how closely tied together this family is. When one of them finds out something, they immediately call the others to find out what is really going on to make sure everyone is in the loop. It reminds me much of how my own family works, which is why I find the show so easy to watch. You navigate the ups and downs just like we do in real life with our own families.
And, lastly, it's compelling enough writing to keep everyone engaged, even when all characters are talking over one another.
